Step 1
Rinse the basmati rice in cold water 2 to 3 times. Soak for about 30 minutes to an hour.
Step 2
In a medium sized stockpot, combine the rice and water and bring to a boil. Lower the heat, cover and simmer for 8 to 10 minutes or until the rice is dry. Turn the heat off and let the rice rest for 5 to 10 minutes.
Step 3
Stir it gently with a fork. Top as desired or eat it plain.
