Apple Oat Crumble

This crumble showcases the natural sweetness of a good apple and is best eaten for breakfast or with an afternoon chair or coffee. The almonds add a depth of flavor, the hint of sweetness is all it needs. Feel free to add more sugar or to pour honey or maple syrup on top before serving it.

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Cut the apples into thick slices or wedges and place them on a greased baking sheet. Sprinkle cinnamon, salt, and sugar on top and place them in the oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until they appear cooked and golden but not mushy.
Step 2
In the meanwhile, mix together oats, almonds, ghee (or butter), spices, and salt. Crumble over the apples and return to the oven for another 5 to 7 minutes. Remove and serve with lightly whipped unsweetened cream.
