Step 1
Combine all ingredients in a pot & boil for 5 minutes. Turn off the heat to let the spices steep for 10-15 minutes. Strain and serve warm.
Step 2
The mulled wine can also sit in the fridge overnight and warm up when ready to use.

2 bottles of red table wine

3-4 sticks of cinnamon 

1 Tbsp cardamom pods 

5-6 star anise flowers 

½ cup sugar

Notes & Variations

  • Add cloves, apples, or tangerines.
  • Try honey or jaggery instead of sugar.
