Pomegranate Syrup:
Step 1
Place the sugar and pomegranate juice in heavy bottomed pot. Turn heat to medium and slowly bring to a boil. Heating too fast will burn the sugar and not allow time for thickening. Mix periodically to ensure no clumps of sugar. Turn heat off and let it cool.
Cocktail:
Step 1
Measure each ingredient and put them in the shaker with ice. Shake until shaker feels icy. Strain the cocktail into two coupes.
Step 2
Garnish fresh blueberries or choice fruit. Drop the blueberries in whole or skewer on a toothpick.

Pomegranate Syrup:

12 ounces sugar

12 ounces pomegranate juice

Cocktail:

4 ounces (8 tablespoons) vodka

2 ounces (4 tablespoons) pomegranate syrup

2 ounces (4 tablespoons) lime juice

Blueberries or fresh berry for garnish

Notes & Variations

  • Fresh squeezed citrus in shaken drinks is preferred.
  • POM Wonderful is a great brand of pomegranate juice.
  • No berries in the house? Try an orange wheel, lime wheel, pomegranate, or any other fresh fruit.
  • Adjust sweetness with more or less pomegranate syrup.
  • We prefer drinking the Pomtini up, but if you prefer your drinks served on the rocks — go for it!
  • Don’t like vodka? Switch it out for gin!
