Step 2
Garnish with orange peel and ground mace.
3 ounces (6 tablespoons) Mezcal
1 1/2 ounces (3 tablespoons) Campari or Caffo Bitters or Contratto Bitters
1 1/2 ounces (3 tablespoons) Vermouth Rosso or Sweet Vermouth
2 orange peels
2 pinches ground mace
2 large ice cubes

Notes & Variations

  • Mace can be left out to keep a more classic version of a mezcal Negroni or feel free to add any another spice.
  • Large ice cubes are extremely fun and a great way to elevate a cocktail! Many online and restaurant stores have large ice cube trays with cube and circular variations.
  • We recommend using Mezcal to have a smoky smooth taste! Some affordable and tasty brands that work well with this drink are: Del Maguey Vida and Los Vecinos. If you have a favorite mezcal, use that one!
  • A classic Negroni is made with Campari, however there are many delectable substitutes for Campari, such as: Contratto Bitter, Caffo Red Bitter, Luxardo Bitter.
  • We prefer the Purana on a big ice cube; but, if you prefer drinks served up, go for it!
