Heirloom Tomato Salad

This salad is good on its own and also makes an awesome side dish for grilled or roasted meats.

Step 1
Lay the tomatoes on a serving platter. Scatter the mango on top. Sprinkle with salt, ground cumin, and chili powder.
Step 2
Heat the mustard oil and pop the coriander seeds. Drizzle onto the tomatoes and mangoes. Garnish with chopped pistachios and cilantro sprigs.
2 heirloom tomatoes, cut into thick slices
1 firm but ripe mango, chopped
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon chili powder

3 tablespoons mustard oil
1/2 teaspoon coriander seeds
3 tablespoons pistachios, chopped
Few sprigs of cilantro

Notes & Variations

  • Add mild cheese like burrata or mozzarella.
  • Put on top of warm toast as a starter or toss with greens.
